Arcade Fire- “Neon Bible” Video

On October 6th, Arcade Fire revealed their new video for the song “Neon Bible”.  After a week or so of letting the tension build via cryptic online messages, the video was posted on their  ”beonlineb” (an anagram of Neon Bible) website. The video is simple but, to put it shortly, excellent.

A black and white image of Win Butler’s face singing the words and his hands, disconnected from his body, doing various different things is the basic concept of the video. However, you can also control and interact with Butler’s hands and head.

Full of little cryptic messages, weird band mythology and with a historic black and white film brought into the modern age sort of feeling, the video isintriguing  and fun.

Everyone’s going bananas with this cryptic website malarky. At least so far it’s been bands who’ve got the goods to back it. I can’t wait for The Enemy or some other joke band gets in on the act! x
