Feist, The Social 23rd September.

Feist is rapidly becoming the lady of the moment and not just because her gorgeous new single ‘1234’ is in an advert for a certain MP3 player. Her third solo album was released this year and was met with unanimous critical acclaim and tonight she proves her worth to a small sold out crowd. Read the rest of this entry »

Los Campesinos! “The International Tweexcore Underground”

Los Campesinos! have, over the last year or so, found a place in the hearts of many music fans despite not really doing much “band” stuff. They’ve hardly played any gigs since March and have done pretty much no promotion of themselves yet the likes of “Please Don’t Tell Me To Do The Math(s)” and “You! Me! Dancing!” are already some sort of indie underground/myspace anthems.

Sharing dirty club stages, wavelegnths, a home city and a comunal sense of dancey fun with the afore mentioned band, Clarky Cat are definatly ones to watch.

Patrick Wolf, Carling Stage, Leeds Festival.

This year Braham Park played host to the biggest ever Carling Leeds Festival. Stages were moved, headliners were (for the first time) exclusive and picking up cups opened the door to countless free beers. Also, with endless after hours entertainment and glorious sunshine in the daytime, confining oneself to the dark and humid tents of the Carling and NME stages became only worth it for the highest calibre of the musical acts on offer.

Leeds Festival 2007

Despite literally every other outdoor event this summer that included more than 10 people turning into a mud bath, Leeds this year was glorious sunshine all weekend. The whole experience was a whirlwind of drinking, food fights, throwing tents, sweat, raving and pushing away soberness throughout the weekend. In between, there was some truly great music.
